Imagine sending someone a text or a photo and they then share this with other people. Oh the tragedy! This is exactly what revenge porn laws are. It’s someone sending an image of them that is then shared. I don’t condone this behavior, but I find it absurd that it’s illegal. If the connotation is that these will be used as blackmail, than why not just make all sharing of private messages and images illegal? It’s likely what will happen in future, because the justifications for these laws are the same.
It’s pretty obvious that a lot of people including those in power have shared nude images. And now they are worried that these images will be exposed to the public. Rather than hold themselves accountable and just admit it, they are threatening the entire world. All the cyber censorship laws began with the premise that they were targeting forms of revenge porn. They have since been extended to include disinformation, offensive language, violence, copyrighted material etc.
When nude pictures of me finally become public, I will simply strip down naked and prove that the girth to length ratio is true.
