Let me first say that I am not a preacher or an expert in Christianity. Consider you want to learn more about the one true religion than I suggest you participate in your local church and ask the leaders any questions you have. These are intelligent, open and goodwill people that have the answers. One day I hope to achieve the level of commitment and expertise as many have, but that is sadly not today.
I am but a humble man on the journey to meet the almighty and plead forgiveness for my sins. My family comes from a long line of preachers; however I grew up in a non – denominational household. As many modern Christians are, we were quite slack in our practices and really only attended church on holidays. I was not Christened or Baptized and became somewhat apathetic to God in my early adult years.
Despite this, there was a lovely lady church member that always sent me Christmas cards and had me go to Sunday school for a little while. These different ties to Christ consistently throughout my life provided me endless opportunities to return home. The entire world has been provided these same opportunities, yet most of us ignore them for an easier materialistic life.
So I’m starting a little series to document my path in regaining a commitment to Christianity. The idea is that pondering about these themes should propel my faith even further forward. This will include personal experiences and Christian principles that I’ve strongly connected with along this journey. Additionally, I hope that by sharing this other’s may begin or continue their path towards salvation. It’s also good documentation for when they finally make that biographical film about me.
Joel 2:13 (KJV)
‘And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.’
