Australian Parliament Finally Supports Julian Assange

Some good news is that the Australian Federal Parliament have voted to urge the US and UK to let Wikileaks founder Julian Assange return down under. A group of politicians from across the political divide travelled to the US earlier this year attempting to promote his cause. And the Australian attorney general recently met with the American attorney general to call on Assange’s freedom. I’ve made fun of this cross-dresser in the past, but I am sending my respect to Independent MP Andrew Wilkie for spearheading this campaign.

The so called conservatives of Australia are so hyper focused on losing elections that they voted against this – despite their leader Peter Dutton stating last year that he would support Julian Assange’s release. Remember, the Liberal National Coalition will support imprisonment of their own citizens if it means that they can better serve their foreign masters.

It is unlikely that this vote will have any effect on the final result, but it does at least show that our government is still compassionate to our citizens abroad. It also shows that we are still somewhat independent from these other nations and that hopefully this divide is continuing to grow. Consider these foreign nations reject our demands, then this at least affirms that we are not friends. The tide in Australia has already turned and you’ll be lucky to find any citizens that respect or admire the US. As a commonwealth nation we still have mutual respect and ties with the UK, but I think the average Australian is more sympathetic than friendly – sympathetic that the English have to live in a cold country and are born with backwards teeth.

I have always admired Julian Assange and I’ve read his book Underground: Tales of Hacking etc a couple times over. He is a brave man to stand in the name of truth against the largest governments ever to exist. Assange presented massive shockwaves across the world by publishing information relating to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. This contained government lies so enormous that the mainstream was forced to report on it. Subsequently the truth became reachable to normal people and converted them into anti – establishment soldiers. He fits into that weird period where Anonymous was cool and being a revolutionary meant saying no to carpet bombing Muslim children.

It’s become so important for the US government to keep Julian Assange in prison, primarily so they can ritually humiliate him in public. They don’t like to hang people in private, they like to do it in public: the reason they do this is to strike fear into the heart of others that consider committing the same acts. It’s psychological warfare against the truth tellers of the world.

Julian Assange will be facing his final appeal in a UK court and we all will soon be learning of his fate. No mainstream journalists have been charged for publishing this same material. And no military or political personnel have been charged for lying and committing these atrocities across the world. One single Australian was able to strike fear into the largest military complex in the world and we should therefore celebrate his story, no matter the ending.
