For those not keeping up with American beer companies, Bud Light was boycotted last year by conservatives after they sponsored transsexual influencer Dylan Mulvaney. I and many others were surprised at how successful this boycott was, with roughly a 20% drop in sales and the company losing its status as the top selling beer in America. It’s nice to know that there is still some unity amongst the country and that the old tradition of bashing minorities can be enjoyed by all, whether drunk on Bud Light or not.
Many right – wing commentators, politicians and musicians pulled off maybe one of the greatest boycotts in history. Kid Rock initially encouraged the boycott and even fired an MP5 at some cartons of the beer. This caused others to post themselves destroying the product online, and I honestly thought that this trend of buying beer to destroy it might increase sales.
Bud Light’s answer to all this, has been to begin pandering hard to the conservative and masculine communities. They first blamed an advertising agency and then fired their female Vice President. They then increased their budget for promoting the beer in the NFL and have partnered with the UFC. Donald Trump and his low IQ son also promoted the company, conveniently right before meeting with a Bud Light lobbyist who was raising money for their campaign.
The obese slob and China hater Shane Gillis has partnered with the company, and promoted the product alongside the bald and short Joe Rogan. Rogan is of course still employed by the UFC and opened his podcast with Gillis as they share a Bud Light and discuss meeting the CEO. Rogan of course is being paid by this company (even subsequently through the UFC) but never admits it to the audience because he is a slimy Italian greaser.
Joe Rogan also did an interview with Kid Rock where they discuss meeting the Bud Light CEO at a UFC event. Kid Rock essentially backtracks on everything he previously said and calls anyone boycotting Bud Light a loser, despite previously encouraging that very same boycott. He discusses how he has since had business meetings with the company about promotions and then says that he isn’t being paid by them. However, I have my doubts. Rogan and Kid Rock spent the opening 10 minutes of the podcast giving fellatio to the beer and then proceed to make social media posts promoting it.
It probably works like this: Bud Light pays the UFC, who then pays Rogan, who then pays Kid Rock. Rogan and Kid Rock can then claim that they aren’t paid by the company, despite having repeated meetings with the business representatives and working for a company in partnership with them. It’s also obvious because these guys just wouldn’t be giving free airtime, praise and social media posts to a company that isn’t funding them.
It is however nice to see that the audience hasn’t bought into this obvious paid promotion and are instead sticking to their principles. The comment section is filled with consumers who refuse to consume this transgender piss water. These same people are also calling Rogan and Kid Rock two – face shills who would lick the sweat from Dylan Mulvaney’s feet for a dollar.
